I've created this collection for those who might not want to spend the time going through the thousands of photos I've shot in Latin America and for my own expression of what are my personal favorites of the trip.
The choices I've made are based (not necessarily conciously) on several criteria, including interesting color, a rare or unique moment, a beautiful or interesting person, or just a fun or memorable event or expression.
It's notoriously difficult to edit one's own work, but I've tried to be ruthless and will continue to do so as I add photos to this collection during the duration of my travels in Latin America.
After over 11 months' travel and over 43,000 photos, this is the current gallery of my favorites.
Vicci Martinez is a local (Tacoma) pop singer. I had never heard of her before the Taste of Tacoma this year (2007), but now I'm a fan. She's an intense performer and writes some great songs. Her band is pretty darn tight, too. She's definitely worth seeing if you have the chance.
I worked in Seattle for about 9 months during 2006 at a company called M:Metrics which is located in the Pioneer Square area. This is a wonderful place to work. Within walking distance are many shops, restaurants, and interesting places to see, such as the Seattle waterfront, The Elliot Bay Book Company, Occidental Square, and Pike Place Market. During the summer, you could go to a different place or restaurant every single day and find something new and fresh. I hope this series of photos gives you a pleasant taste of the Emerald City.
Viewing the images
The best way to view these images is using the Slideshow feature. You'll get the largest and highest quality viewing experience that way. When viewing the slideshow, hover your mouse over the little man on the lower right side of your screen to read captions that describe the photos. The show will pause until you move your mouse away from the little man.
Unfortunately, Zenfolio shows a maximum image size of 1100 x 850, so my original images won't show, even during the Slideshow. If you like some image in particular, you can download the original, which is up to 1280 x 1024. However, this is only for personal viewing. The images are copyrighted and so are off limits for commercial use without prior permission from me.
I hope you enjoy Seattle as much as I do!
