Death Valley is a great place to visit. Make sure, however (unless you're a glutton for punishment), that you go in the Winter. In the Summer, it gets so hot...well, I can't really think of a good way to describe it. You might want to experience it just once. It's like an oven. It's just rediculous. Just make sure your vehicle is in good condition and you have plenty of cold drinks in the cooler.

Some of the local location names might be as good a way as any to describe Death Valley in the Summer: Coffin Canyon, Funeral Peak, Deadman Pass, Rattlesnake Canyon, Last Chance Mountain, Last Chance Canyon, Dry Bone Canyon, Dead Horse Canyon, and Jail Canyon. You get the idea.
