Some of these photos were shot on a drive to Cafayate, Argentina from Salta, Argentina, with my friend Florencia, and then on the way back. The rest were shot in Cafayate, Animaná, and San Carlos.
There was a tourism fiesta in Cafayate and there was a competition to crown the 2008 tourism queen. There were also performances by folkloric dancers and singers. This was on a Saturday night.
The next day in Animaná, there was a religious procession paying homage to the Virgen de la Merced. After the religious oration and march around the city, there was a parade with different student groups, dance clubs, firemen, police, and floats.
After that, we briefly swung by San Carlos, a place where Florencia spent a lot of vacation time as a kid. It was a very small, quiet town, with approximately zero activity—great if you want some peace and quiet and a place to unwind.
